Whistler Ridge
A novel by Jennnifer Olmstead

Glenna Caine has issues.

Forty-five and newly separated, she leaves the business world behind to start fresh, converting a dormant crop farm in into a commercial horse boarding operation. With only a three-month window, from January to April first, to complete construction and land preparation, her business plan leaves little room for delays. Glenna’s teenage son, Ian, grudgingly makes the move to the farm on Whistler Ridge Road with her, convinced that she caused the breakup of their family. And there’s one more, bigger problem: Glenna’s black lab puppy returns from a walk in the woods proudly flaunting a human arm bone sparking an invasive police investigation.

Days turn into weeks, and Glenna is desperate for the investigation to conclude in order to resume her life and save her stalled business. She makes some informal inquiries with the encouragement and assistance of Dan Deal, owner of the local feed store, a man whose simple lifestyle obscures a more complex past. After exposing a network of silence and lies, Glenna confronts her own painful past and moral foundation, and must ultimately create her own definition of “doing the right thing.”
